I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
